DORY GRADE

   

ACRYLICS

Dory Grade has been a professional artist for more than 40 years. Versatile, she is equally comfortable with drawing, oil, watercolor, acrylic, silkscreen, etching or lithographic printmaking.  Dory studied at Jepson Art Institute LA, Cal State Fullerton, El Camino College, Otis Art Institute, UCLA, and under Master painters Josef Silhavey & Robert E. Wood.

Graphic design, architectural tile and murals for Mosaic Tile Co. Nationally syndicated illustrator for Lois Wyse' poetry "Day of Love". Chosen for her ability to express, in line drawings, the human condition of love universal.  Forty years of teaching both privately and in the LA Adult Schools, while raising 7 children, has led to concentration on fine arts as a way of life.

Dory has published a line of prints and greeting cards, along with original art from her life experiences. She has completed her 30th successful exhibition at the famed Descanso Gardens in La Canada-Flintridge.  Art Associations throughout California have invited Dory to demonstrate her unique ability in performance painting inspired by nature.

Through the years, she has received many awards from competitions throughout Southern California.  The international competition, "Art For The Parks", chose Dory's painting "Balance of Nature" (middle thumbnail picture above) to be included in the second 100 finalists in 1998.
