Chris Van Winkle is a California artist with roots in Canada.
His art studies include Ontario College of Art, Toronto; Citrus
College, Glendora, California; and the Art Center College of
Design, Los Angeles, California. He has studied further with
Robert Hallett, Robert E. Wood, Pat Deadman, Frank Webb, George
James, Robert Gray, Henry Fukuhara and with the legendary
Milford Zornes.
For the past 15 years, Chris has been teaching watercolor at
Citrus College through their Community Education Department. He
has conducted workshops in California, traveled and painted
throughout the United States and Canada, and has led painting
trips to Europe.
He is an award-winning artist in both the National Watercolor
Society and Watercolor West and is a signature member in both
organizations. He has served several years on the board of the
National Watercolor Society, of which he now is President.
His expressive and evocative watercolors are stunning
examples of the coming together of inspiration and technique. He
is much honored as an artist, respected as a teacher, and speaks
with the authority of experience.
