SHIRLEY BONNEVILLE
Shirley Bonneville of Etiwanda developed her interest in art during art
courses in high school. Later, she won a scholarship to the Chicago Art
Institute but gave that up in favor of marriage and family.
She studied oil painting with Effel Deeter, outdoor drawing and
watercolor with Milford Zornes, and later studied watercolor with Bob Eucker
in Monrovia. She stopped painting watercolor when her husband retired, but
soon went to sculpture classes with Carolyn Hemenway, to which she devoted
her time for fifteen years - and she has continued sculpting on her own as
well as with sculptor Cheryl Cooper.
Quite a few years ago, Shirley attended a silk painting workshop with
Joy Fink. She has excelled in this medium, and continues to paint and sell
many silk scarves and silk paintings.
Her favorite artistic expressions are in watercolor and sculpture, and
she is especially fond of watercolor florals and sculptures of animals.
Shirley has won many first place and best of show ribbons throughout
the years in watercolor, oil, and acrylic.
This month, Shirley will be demonstrating for the association with her
silk painting.
